  • Prepare Lemon Juice: Squeeze the lemons to extract fresh juice. Use a citrus juicer to make this step easier.
  • Blend Strawberries: In a blender, puree the fresh strawberries until smooth. If you prefer a smoother texture, you can strain the puree to remove the seeds.
  • Mix Ingredients: In a large jar, combine the filtered water, fresh lemon juice, honey or maple syrup, and strawberry puree. Stir well until the sweetener is completely dissolved. Don't overfill the jar but want to avoid leaving excessive air pockets to avoid moldy buildup leading to product discard without consumption.
  • Add Probiotics: If you're using whey, add it to the mixture. Or, if you're using a probiotic capsule, open the capsule and add the contents to the lemonade. Stir thoroughly to ensure everything is well combined.
  • Ferment: Tightly seal the jar and leave at room temperature - away from direct sunlight - for 2-3 days to allow fermentation. To prevent build-up, shake the sealed jar at least twice a day - once in the morning and again in the evening. The longer you ferment, the more pronounced the probiotic benefits will be. while take caution and care with regarding the presence of mold or other contaminants that could prevent consumption.
  • Refrigerate and Serve: Once the lemonade has fermented to your liking, transfer it to the refrigerator. Serve chilled, and enjoy the refreshing taste and health benefits of your probiotic strawberry lemonade.
