Elderberry Tea for Sniffles, Congestion, Aches & Pains

Elderberry is a popular herb, found in a large number of over-the-counter cold and cough syrups, is commonly used to fight viral infections, such as the common cold and flu. Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup Elderberries (dried) ((app. 30 grams))
  • 20 g Astragalus (dried) ((small handful))
  • 1 tbsp Marshmallow Root (dried) ((app. 4 grams)
  • 14 oz Water
Instructions
  1. Place the elderberries, ginger, black pepper, and water in a small saucepan. Cover, bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer for 20 minutes.
  2. Turn off the heat. Add the rosemary and thyme. Cover and let steep for 5 minutes. We add the aromatic herbs at the end so that their volatile oils don’t evaporate during the simmering process.
  3. Strain. Add honey (or other sweetener) as desired.
  4. Drink throughout the day.
